La Liga reviews - Real Madrid Atletico Barcelona

La Liga is back in action and this time it’s unpredictably interesting!

La Liga review

Real Sociedad 1 – 0 Barcelona

Barcelona lost against real sociedad

It’s nothing new to see that a team is running in a great form and after it loses a match, they start losing the form, team chemistry and ultimately the confidence.

Same has happened with Barcelona this week. After defeating their closest rivals Atletico Madrid at the quarter finals stage of the UEFA Champions League, it seemed that  Barcelona built up their form and the game well after losing the El Clasico. But it was not like that as Barcelona couldn’t even manage a draw against the home side Real Sociedad.

Barcelona lost the game and are just 3 points ahead of Atletico Madrid and 4 points from Real Madrid now. And this can be a great problem and matter of concern for the Luis Enrique’s Barcelona.
As per the record, Barcelona has not won against Real Sociedad since 2007 in their last 6 visits to Anoeta Stadium. Barcelona were seen to be a weaker side in terms of offence as they couldn’t make it to the back of the net even once.

It was not even 5 minutes gone and the teen star Oyarzabal tucked in a header in the frame beating Claudio Bravo and giving home side an early advantage on which Real Sociedad could build up the game and work for another goal. Although Real Sociedad couldn’t manage to score another goal but still they managed to take away three points from Barcelona.

Because of suspension, Luis Suarez was unavailable and so Barcelona was finding it harder to attack. Real attack came around 33rd minute when Messi and Neymar came together to combine to make a move for Arda Turan, whose shot was deflected and then saved by Geronimo  Rulli. detailed stats: Skysports

Real Sociedad were doing too good on defence and were almost successful to score their second goal as they made a great counter attack and were close but thanks to Dani Alves who backed up just in time to block Alberto de la bella’s shot inside the penalty area.

Messi tried to make a difference once or twice but was denied by Geronimo Rulli to stay tight for victory.

Barcelona has been unsuccessful to win their last three La Liga games and will now defend and work to make their way to semi finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Espanyol 1 – 3 Atletico Madrid

Atletico won against Espanoyl

Don’t know what tactics Diego Simeone applies, but he somehow manages to fetch a win against greatest of teams. This week was no different.

Although it was not a tough team to face but Atletico has managed to get back from the lost match against Barcelona at the UEFA Champions League as they managed to come back from 1 goal down to Espanyol to 2 goals ahead and making the score line in their favour as 1 – 3 .

Diego Simeone expressed his emotions and happiness after winning the match. He also praised the scorers Antoine Griezmann and Fernando Torres who helped to register a comeback win for Atletico Madrid.

After this match Atletico Madrid are just three points behind the league leaders Barcelona and can win the league title. It’s been an open race again from now on. Barcelona could not afford to drop a single point now otherwise they may have to bear the pain of losing the almost "WON" title.

After Koke who gave Atletico Madrid the equalizer and provided assists to another two goals, Griezmann headed the ball into the back of net. And torres then added a finishing touch to score line by heading another goal.

Simeone said that he’s very much happy as the team fought back to win the game for him and the fans.

Simeone added -  We played in pursuit of victory and so we deserved it.  And this is all what a game of football needs. This will act as an important victory for us and fill us with confidence and enthusiasm.
Torres has been very persistent player and he deserves this and talking about Griezmann, he is a fantastic player and I like him very much.

Simeone told that they can still win the league as they are at the second place above Real Madrid and just three points behind Barcelona.

He said “ I was taught that believe in what you do and that’s what we’re doing”.
We are persistent, confident and continuously fighting for what we deserve. If things are meant to fall  in our favour they will fall.  Narrated by - Goal.com

Real Madrid 4 – 0 Eibar

Real Madrid won against Eibar

Real Madrid stood strong against the Eibar side at the Santiago Bernabeu as they scored 4 goals and defended well to allow no goal in their net and taking the three points away with a clean sheet.

After losing to Wolfsburg and displaying a very bad game, Real Madrid won the match in great style in the Spanish League and are now focused again on the UEFA Champions League match to be played at the Santiago Bernabeu against Wolfsburg, which will be a match worth watching as it’s a chance for Real Madrid to show their will power and determination to win a lost game .

Sergio Ramos was unavailable due to suspension and Benzema was kept at the bench because of the injury he faced in Champions League night. Luka Modric and Keylor Navas were set to rest for a bigger match ahead.

Danilo is being continuously criticized because of his bad game in every game for Real Madrid. Although the Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane told that he is great professional and plays very well. He almost scored a goal against Eibar and I would have liked if he’d scored but I’m upset to know that he’s not being liked by some.

Real Madrid registered a 4 – 0  win and narrowed the gap in terms of points with the league leaders Barcelona. If Real Madrid could produce something like this in the second leg of UEFA Champions League, Zidane would feel very happy and the fans will have no complaints. But if Wolfsburg manages to score even 1 goal at Bernabeu, Real Madrid will have to score at least 4 goals to win and make their way to semi finals.

James Rodriguez curled in a free kick, 2nd and 3rd goals were scored by Lucas Vazquez and Cristiano Ronaldo and Jese gave the last and the 4th for the team before the first half itself.

Dani Carvajal was substituted by Danilo in the 63rd minute and fans booed as he entered the pitch. Zidane told that even when he substituted Carvajal, it’s not yet to say that whether he’ll play for Champions Leaue match or not. He has not yet revealed the intentions to bench Carvajal . According to Goal

Cristiano Ronaldo with another Record

Cristiano Ronaldo scored 30 goals for sixth consecutive season

Cristiano Ronaldo is very confident and feels that Real Madrid can win and play for semi finals of the UEFA Champions League as he is doing great and have just registered another record in the Spanish football.

With his goal for Real Madrid against Eibar, he completed his 30th goal for the league for the sixth consecutive season. No single Spanish player has managed to do so ever in the history.

He has just missed this mark when he scored 26 goals when it was his first season at Real Madrid and he only played 29 matches that season.
