UEFA Champions League is back !

UEFA Champions League is back in action, where the last 8 of the teams are going to face each other for the Semi Finals. After so much of matches, struggle, beautiful games, eliminating the best teams for all around Europe, it now time for the deciders where teams will fight for the ultimate trophy of the season –The Uefa Champions League 2016.

Let’s look forward for the teams and their managers who made it to the last 8 and now are looking forward to semi finals of the UEFA Champions League 2016.

Bayern Munchen vs. Benfica

Josep Guardiola mentioned that Bayern Munchen has always been favourite side no matter whichever team it faces but a team like Benfica who has won 19 of the last 20 matches cannot be neglected in terms of their game play and might be favourite this time.

Bayern Munchen has been at this stage consecutively from last 6 to 7 years and last season Bayern got defeated by FC Porto 3 -1 in the first leg and this time it’s Benfica who are carrying a great line of winning records.

Benfica striker Jonas have scored 30 goals this season and he might be a problem for the Bundesliga Champions.

Talking about form of the teams, Benfica has won all the 5 matches last month whereas Bayern had won 4 matches and drew one with their close rivals Borussia Dortmund on the same day last month.

And when compared head to head, Benfica has lost all of the five matches they’ve faced against Bayern Munich .

Barcelona vs. Atletico Madrid

Well, this will be a match worth watching because Barcelona is playing at top form and on the other side Atletico Madrid never give up so easily and no doubt are in great form too as they’re just 6 points behind the leading Barcelona.

Pique was questioned in the conference room about the upcoming match of UEFA Champions League match where he was asked that  - “has the spirit of winning affected after the El Clasico loss at Camp Nou ?” to which Pique replied – “ No, losing a match becomes more challenging for a team like Barcelona. After a loss, we have to again start playing, quickly cover up the form and specially against rivals like Atletico Madrid.”

He also mentioned or we can say warned that Barcelona could be unstoppable and we will definitely try to score as much goals as possible.

Although, Barcelona had a 39 matches unbeaten streak which was lately ended by Real Madrid and Luis Enrique just said that the match no longer exists for him now as he was beaten by Real Madrid who were having just 10 men playing  on the field. For details about El Clasico click here.

On the other side. Atletico will be ready to press Barcelona though pressure in the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League and will try to beat them to play through the semi finals. If they manage to beat Barcelona in the Qaurter finals there are chances that Atletico Madrid could take away the Champions League trophy with them but it’s not ye to be said anyway. Let’s see what happens tonight.

Both the teams are carrying the same form sheet that is 3 won 1 lost and drew 1 so most probably this clash would be a worth watching one.

Paris Saint Germain vs. Manchester City

PSG has been on this stage consecutively for last 3 seasons and every time they come with full force on with them but in the end they lack somewhere because of which they can’t make it to the finals but this time they’ve been running in great form and are in n mood just to sit and retuen home without even trying for the Champions League trophy.

Although, Manchester City is the only Premier League team left in the Chamipions League competition but truly speaking, they’ve not been up to scratch as compared to earlier seasons but now when they’ve managed to make it to the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League, they will not return without giving their best and so they’ll have to perform on top of their game.

PSG and Man City are facing each other for the first time at this level and are dealing with great pressure as both of the teams know that it takes something more than ordinary to beat the other one and therefore we can expect an awesome match between them .

Key players would be Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Raheem Sterling, Sergi Aguero, Javier Pastore

Manchester City have won 2 matches, drew 2 and lost 1 and on the other side PSG have won 3 matches, drew 1 and lost 1.

Surely PSG is running in greater form than Manchester City but this Champions League match will tell whose better this season.

Real Madrid vs. Wolfsburg

This match is not much awaited maybe because of the rivals Real Madrid are facing. But the fact cannot be ignored that Wolfsburg has been running in great form and they’re also playing a good game that’s why they’re here to play quarter finals.

Zinedine Zidane will manage Real Madrid for third time in the Uefa Champions League and is set to go on a rolling run and play the semi finals. He’s been doing really good and is now more confident after defeating Barcelona at Camp Nou.

So Wolfsburg should be very careful and will have to play a tight game against Real Madrid .

But, Wolfsburg also cannot be under estimated as it’s a great team and will do anything possible to make it to the semi finals of the UEFA Champions League. It’s after a very long time that Wolfsburg has made it to this level and therefore they’ll show the world their worth.

Real Madrid has won all the 5 nmatches they’ve played last month including the one they played in April against Barcelona whereas Wolfsburg not doing so good at the German League have won only 2 matches , lost 2 and drew 1.

Match will be played at Santiago Bernabeu at 20:45 CET

Although, Real Madrid is expected to win and are the favourites but this is UEFA Champions League. Anything can happen at this level so it’s yet to be seen and declared.
