How Barclays Premier League has turned into new Barclays Premier League
How many times have you seen a league turning on it’s head ?
I mean, usually we see the top teams holding on the upper 4 slots of the table.
But it gets interesting when the teams which were struggling to make it to the
top 8 are now leading the table with greater margin in terms of points.
It’s nothing to tell you about, all of us know that we’re
discussing about the Barclays Premier League and you know why .
This year’s Barclays Premier League turned out to be a total
different sequel as compared to usual seasons as the Premier League giants like
Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United got left behind and
Tottenham and Leicester City stunned everyone in the football planet as
Tottenham managed to make themselves prominent on the second place and Leicester
City are the current league leaders climbing up from the 14th place
last season.
It’s confirmed now that Leicester City and Tottenham will play
the UEFA Champions League next season. And it was also considered that
Leicester would win the English Premier League this season as they were clearly
7 points ahead of the 2nd placed team Tottenham but now it seems a
bit messed up issue. Let’s look forward to what made this happen.

Tottenham registered a 0 – 4 victory
over Stoke City which brought them closer to the Premier League title
Harry Kane and Dele Alli scored twice each and filed a one
sided win over Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium and closed their gap to 5 points
with the league leaders Leicester City.
9th minute brought a goal for the away side as
Harry Kane scored a goal assisted by Mousa Dembele and found the bottom corner of the frame
giving his side a precious lead.
Second goal for the away side came late in the second half
as Alli scored with the help of a chip shot in the 67th minute. But
the third goal didn’t took too long as Harry Kane quickly doubled up his goal
tally in the match and gave Tottenham a confirmation of the victory.
Not even 10 minutes were left for the game to get over and
Alli scored another stunner to add a gloss on the score line and compensated
the points they dropped against West Ham. They are now having 68 points in
hand, just 5 less than Leicester City.
Mauricio Pochettino showed his urge to keep playing in such
form to maintain the pressure on the League front runners Leicester City.
The Foxes dropped the points against West Ham as they drew 2 - 2 and lost a bit of their focus from the
League title and indirectly helped Tottenham to get even closer to the league
title as they are just 5 points ahead now from the second placed Tottenham.
Mauricio Pochettino said: “It was a great game and I’m very
pleased to see this type of game.”
“The players deserve the credits of course as it was a
difficult fixture to face.” He stated.
“Stoke wanted to win the match from the starting itself but
it was our personality, good qualities and character which made us win the game.”
He later added.
Alli said: At this time all the players know the importance
of every match and so we all are giving our full to achieve what we deserve.
Tottenham is waiting for Leicester to face Swansea next Sunday
and then they’ll take on West Brom at White Hart Lane and Pochettino hopes to
see the same scenario again and want to celebrate again same as this week.
It’s now a close call to judge whose gonna win the title but
it’s yet to be seen.

Leicester City dropped points against
West Ham and made the title race easier for their closest rivals Spurs
The match was looking out of the hands of the league leaders
as 2 goals from West Ham distorted a bit the vision of the Foxes on the League
Title.
Jamie Vardy gave his side an early lead as he scored a goal
in the 18th minute and made the fans believed that this is again a
three point addition to maintain the 7 point margin over Spurs. But it did not
happened as expected and the match made an exciting turn and made the Foxes to
bow down in front of the hammers for a while.
Jamie Vardy got sent off after he saw a second yellow card
in the match as he was penalised for diving. At this level of the League, a
player like Vardy should think before doing any such thing that might harm the
team’s performance or confidence.
But somehow Leicester managed to play it a draw as Ulloa
made his mark on the game from the penalty spot at the 90th (+5) minute.
Although the table position did not change for the League
Leaders but still they were in danger to allow Spurs to get even closer to them
and the same happened as Tottenham managed to defeat Stoke by 4 goals to nil
and minimized the gap from 7 to 5 points now. And this has now made the Barclays
Premier League even more interesting.
It was continuously the sixth time when Claudio Ranieri
named the same line up believing that his players could make it as they registered
a 2 – 0 victory over Sunderland a week ago.
West Ham started in full flight as they made their first move
in the early minutes but didn’t find the net as Cheikhou Kouyate made a strong
contact on the ball free kicked by Dimitri Payet and the ball went to hit the
post and went on the other side and hit the second pole and then in the hands
of the keeper.
Jamie Vardy still the scoring hero
Jamie Vardy opened the scoring lock in the 18th
minute when Leicester made a smooth counter attack when Schmeichel leading the
attack cleared the ball and made Foxes free from their own box and the ball
went to N’Golo Kante who swifted the
ball to Vardy who scored his 22nd goal of the Premier League season
placing him on the second place after Harry Kane with 24 goals.
Jamie Vardy could hit the top players list next season as
his goal scoring record has been phenomenal
and might be continued to the next season and can make him count in top
players of this year’s FIFA Ballon D’or.

Jamie Vardy - Hero or Villain ?
Jamie Vardy was Red carded in the match against West Ham
where they drew 2 – 2. He was penalised due to the dive he committed. But now
he might face an extended ban due to his
misconduct with the referee which might worry Claudio Ranieri as Vardy is one
of the most important strikers playing for the Foxes.
Diego Costa have faced this type of this situation in the
previous season in the FA Cup against Everton when he messed up with the
referee.
Leicester has been seen to fail in terms of controlling their
player behavioural activities and this is leading Leicester to be charged for
same.
Leicester City is a team full of young talents and at a
level like this where they are so close to winning their first league title, getting
excited is nothing unusual but when it comes to discipline, the manager should
take a charge on the actions of the players strictly. Skysports

Is this the reason for Mourinho's failure at Chelsea this season ?
Chelsea and Spain playmaker Cesc Fabregas finally has said
something on Mourinho getting sacked.
He told that it’s “ the players” who let him ( Jose Mourinho
) down. As we got extra holidays as reward for winning the league.
One of the biggest problem was that he trusted us too much
and therefore awarded us with extra holidays leading lack of practice and
ultimately poor performance.

Conte won’t wait to see us winning –
Cesc Fabregas
Cesc Fabregas took his new boss’s side as he spoke about him
and his abilities. He praised him and gave his team a new and confident drive
to go on for the next season.
This was a dark season for the team where the title defender
were about to get relegated and were just few points away to get relegated. And
Mourinho faced the consequences as he got sacked in December 2015 and Guus
Hiddink took over as the interim manager and won every game in 2016 but lost
recently.
Fabregas believes that Conte is special enough to bring the
team back on winning terms and he (Cesc) might play as “The Pirlo“ for Chelsea.
Pirlo was signed by Juventus for free under Conte and it
proved out to be a smart decision. And Fabregas thinks he might be the player
who can play as deep penetrating playmaker this season.
Fabregas mentioned: “I’ve played against Italy from Spain
and I think it was really interesting and his tactics were quite offensive.”
“I’ve studied it myself and heard it from top professionals
as well, that he’s disciplined, he’s a winner, he’s a competitor.”Goal.com
This was Fabregas’s call on his new manager but what
actually happens will come out when the new season kicks off. It’ll be exciting
to see whether Conte brings Chelsea back
to it’s best or not.
