Every season, UEFA Champions League brings out different and exciting twists which entertain every one of us. This year is no different as it turned out be unpredictable.
Pep
Guardiola : You can kill me if we lose to Atletico
Well, this
has to come sooner or later. As everyone here knows that the German Giants Bayern Munich were the favourites when they were about to face Atletico Madrid but it
turned out to be a different outcome when the game ended.
Bayern lost
1- 0 away from home where Guardiola found it difficult to penetrate the
Atletico defence. Whereas Atletico managed to score a goal when Saul made a
tremendous run towards the v Bayern penalty area and every player from Bayern did
their part to stop but somewhere they didn’t do the whole of their parts as
Saul managed to score a goal with a finesse shot beating Manuel Neuer.
Although
Guardiola says that the criticism for the Atleti tie is still premature as
another leg of the UEFA Champions League semi finals is still left. And it’s
not impossible to beat Atletico specially at their home ground Allianz Arena.

Let’s see
what the game is up to.
2. 2. Guardiola on the verge of elimination
for third consecutive year
It’s not the first time when Bayern Munich is facing an
intusion of getting eliminated from the Uefa Champions League semi finals. It’s
been the third consecutive season when Bayern Munich might get eliminated facing
a Spanish team.
In 2014 Real Madrid
thrashed Bayern Munich apart with overall 5 – 0 lead under Carlo Ancelotti.
Then in 2015 Barcelona did the same as they won the Champions League that
season.
And now it’s Atletico Madrid who might win as they have
achieved a 1 – 0 lead over Bayern Munich at home and are now ready to face them
at Allianz Arena.
3. 3. Performance against Bayern was our
best – Diego Simeone
Simeone had to say this because they have managed to beat a
top team again in UEFA Champions League campaign as they came into the semi
finals after beating Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League quarter finals.
The way Atletico Madrid managed to stop Bayern and score a
goal against them has made it easier for them to win the semi finals and face
Either Real Madrid or Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League finals.
Yeah, this is true as we all know the way Real Madrid started
the season with Rafa Benitez, no one would have ever thought that Real Madrid
would even see the quarter finals stage this season’s UEFA Champions League.
The performance was continuously poor and Real Madrid were no
more the favourites for the Champions League contender as they used to be every
season.
But Perez made a decision which wass the sole decision in the
whole season that proved out to be in favour of Real Madrid and that was
signing Zinedine Zidane as the head coach. This decision bought so many changes
in the minds of the players and fans too.
Believe it or not every Real Madrid fan somewhere knew that
it’s impossible for Real Madrid this season to win anything this season. As
they were thrown out of the Spanish Cup already and Barcelona were in no mood
to lose this season’s title.
But as soon as Zidane took over the control, the fate chose
to turn upside down within four months. Now Real Madrid are the favourites to
win the Champions League this season and are equally favourite as Atletico and
Barcelona for the Spanish League Title.
